Tonight’s supper:
–Grilled chicken and zucchini stacks with fire-roasted tomato mushroom sauce, each caramelized layer interspersed with fresh mozzarella and basil leaves, topped with homemade bread crumbs toasted in garlic and olive oil
–Salad of mixed greens with thinly sliced cucumber, caper berries and shallot, dressed with orange tarragon vinaigrette
–And the best for last… dessert: a simple wedge of pannetone warmed in the oven, a few almonds and a glass of milk
Something warm and comforting to come home to after a long [no time for coffee!], lonely, chilly Friday. And the crossword, as always. More work tomorrow and Sunday. Ten hours each? If I must. Database updates never cease. I’m hoping after cereals I’ll move on to something fun. Like whale eyes or potted meats. [Neither of which are on the “Foods I MUST Try” list.]
Good night, dear reader.
