In a fashion so perfectly Autumn, the winds changed and a cold front swept through southeast Texas two days ago. Temperatures plummeted from 97º to 65º F in barely an hour. It almost feels like a proper Autumn back home in Wisconsin!
Today the morning chill lingered well into the afternoon. The sky dark with low-hanging grey clouds, a crisp breeze in the air. Only a bowl brimming with cacio e pepe — tangled strands of spaghetti cloaked in Emmentaler and tons of black pepper — could warm us up.
Tomorrow the heat will return, bringing with it storms for the foreseeable future. At least I caught a glimpse of my favorite season…
