Happy Valentine’s Day, Heather!
I love you…
Hi Heather,
This sounds delicious (and so, so simple)! Just a thought – I’ve been using plain Greek yogurt as a substitute for sour cream and it’s hit the spot every time. So it may be a good healthy substitute here too. I’ve even used it on chili and it was delicious!
Lindsay
Love you, too, Dad! (and Sandy, Bud)
@Lindsay: Greek yogurt IS a great substitute for sour cream. In moderation, sour cream isn’t necessarily bad for you, but there is more fat, more sodium and also much less protein than yogurt. We did use fat free sour cream for our berry dessert (and not very much), though I can definitely see using thick, creamy, rich Greek yogurt in its stead for a nice twist! I’ve used yogurt in savory dishes as well, in place of either cream or sour cream, and loved the results as well.
