My new favorite thing in the kitchen. An antique cut silver pie server.
Some months back an issue of Martha Stewart Living featured an article about bright cut silver serving pieces. [Do you remember it?] Never before had I beheld such stunning and dainty pie and cake servers, serving spoons, etc.
This beauty isn’t bright cut, but I love it just the same. It came from an antique store here in Corpus — a steal for only $4.50. It’s is an early Christmas present to myself, so I dressed it up with a bow.
As many antiques go, the finish is well worn and begs for polishing. The tip is also slightly bent and needs to be pounded flat again.
Even if I can’t get it any nicer, this server makes me smile and will be a great addition to our kitchen.
Would’ve come in handy last week when I attempted to dish out slices of pie with a fork and knife…
